Cross-project scheduling
We all work within a framework of limited
resources; planning and scheduling are critical to
completing everything we have to do in the time we
have.
And few of us are so blessed as to be able to
work on a single project at a time; we must
divide our attention—and our other
resources—across several projects.
KollabNet’s DesignMaps make it possible to link
multiple projects together at their critical
points. By setting a “trigger” in one project
when a given resource becomes available, we can
have KollabNet tell us the best time to switch
our attention. For example, a rack may need to
be designed to give us the dimensions for a
component that will fit in it. KollabNet can
track these events and let us know what to do,
when.
KollabNet can also be linked to MS Project to
provide tracking of resources across projects.
